Four ways to build an app without coding

Today there are four main ways to get an app without writing the code yourself. None is best for everyone: each one fits a kind of project.

PathWho builds itWhere the code livesIt fits when…
No-code toolsYou, dragging blocksInside the toolThe app is simple and fits what the tool allows
FreelancerOne personDepends on the agreementThe scope is small and clear
Software agencyA team of peopleDepends on the contractThe project is large and the budget allows it
AI agent teamAgents with roles, with your approvalIn your repository, from day oneYou want to move fast, see the whole process and own the code

Before you choose: define these four things

The most common reason an app gets expensive or fails isn’t the technology: it’s starting without clarity. Before talking to anyone, write down on one page:

  1. 01

The problem and who it’s for

What happens today that you want to change, and who will use the app: your customers, your team or both.

  2. 02

    The 3 to 5 must-have features

The minimum for the app to be useful. Everything else can wait for a second version.

  3. 03

    What information it stores

Customers, orders, payments, bookings… Thinking about the data helps whoever builds it get it right from the start.

  4. 04

    How you’ll know it works

For example: retiring the spreadsheet, answering faster or letting customers book on their own.

How it works with an AI agent team

At Korbex, a team of eleven AI agents with defined roles builds the app in your own accounts. This is the journey:

  1. 01

You describe your business in plain words

You tell Korbex, the orchestrator, your idea the way you’d tell a person.

  2. 02

The Delivery Manager shapes the scope

It turns your idea into user stories with acceptance criteria. You approve the scope before anything is built.

  3. 03

The Architect defines the technical plan

It proposes the technology and the project rules, which you also approve.

  4. 04

The agents build in your repository

Every change is a pull request in your GitHub, reviewed by the Architect and validated by QA.

  5. 05

    You decide what reaches production

The app is published to a test environment first, and reaches production only with your approval.

Beyond the agents, someone from our team holds a kickoff call with you, and a Korbex engineer can take on what the agents don’t cover.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Wanting every feature in the first version instead of launching something small and improving it.
  • Not owning the code: if you switch providers tomorrow, your app should go with you.
  • Not testing with real users before adding more features.
  • Choosing technology because it’s trendy rather than because the project needs it.
  • Not thinking about who will maintain the app after launch.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to know how to code to build an app with Korbex?

No. You describe your business in plain words and approve the important decisions. If you have a technical team, it can review every pull request on GitHub.

Who owns my app’s code?

You do. The repository is in your GitHub account and the app is published to your Firebase project from the first commit.

How long until it’s ready?

It depends on the scope. That’s why it pays to start with the 3 to 5 must-have features: a small first version is built and tested much sooner.
